Enriched by a Different Voice
As someone from a Protestant background, I’ve been enriched by the teaching of Bishop Robert Barron. I approach theology by looking for what I find uplifting, true, and what points me back to the scriptures.
In his talks on the parables of Jesus, such as the prodigal son, he preaches the good news that we can encounter the love of God. There is a joy in finding what is good and helpful, especially when it comes from outside our own circles, whether Protestant, Orthodox, or Catholic. I believe there is so much to learn from one another.
I've only watched three or four of his videos, and the amount of content you consume from someone certainly gives you a better idea of what you agree and disagree with. When there are points of disagreement, we can express that in a respectful way.
I'd like to hear from you: What are things that you have appreciated about people from different backgrounds in the Christian faith?
