Pilgrims Progress
John Bunyan
Step into the world of The Pilgrims Progress, arguably the most renowned allegory of the Christian experience ever penned. This timeless tale follows Christian on his transformative journey, beginning with a pivotal meeting with the Evangelist. Along the way, he faces trials and doubts, encountering a cast of characters who either aid or obstruct his quest for the Celestial City and his King. Part 2 continues with the adventures of Christians wife, Christiana, and their sons as they navigate familiar challenges, including the Slough of Despond, Castle Despair, and Vanity Fair. Edited in 1909 by Rev. Jesse Lyman Hurlbut, this version updates archaic language and simplifies theological concepts, ensuring accessibility for all readers. Hurlbut aimed not to rewrite this classic, but to enhance its charm by making it plain and engaging. With dramatized voices bringing the characters to life, we invite listeners of all ages to experience this cherished tale anew. (Summary by Beth Thomas)
